Rylee, Devynn and I were sitting at the table earlier today when Devynn turned to Rylee and told her "I wish we had a new Mom. We need a new Mom."
Huh?! What did I do?!?!
I was quite surprised, considering the fact that Devynn is my shadow! She is permanently attached to me. I sometimes refer to her as my "hemorrhoid" because she is constantly clinging to me! She won't let anyone help her or do anything for her if I am anywhere in the house. She doesn't even want Ryan to close her bedroom door at night when we tuck her in bed!!
I offered to help her find her new Mommy, but she decided to stick with me. Guess whatever I did wasn't too bad after all! :)

My Bubba :)
Yesterday I found a note on the couch that Andrew had written. The outside said "Secret Note." Inside it read: "Anything times zero equals zero."
Shhhh! Don't let Andrew know that I told you and gave away his big secret. :)
He LOVES to learn new things and has become fascinated with learning multiplication, even though they don't start teaching it in school until 3rd grade! I just hope his love of learning never goes away. An unquenchable thirst for knowledge...what a terrific gift to have been given!! That's MY BOY!!!

Go Diamonds!!
Rylee started her second season of soccer. She is absolutely loving it, and has already informed us that she wants to play again next season! :) She is playing very well, and ALMOST had 2 goals last weekend! It's amazing to see such an improvement in all the girls in such a short time. We have a great coach and a sweet group of girls! So fun!! :) Go Diamonds!!

First Day of School
Sorry it's taken so long to post these! I'm only running a little more than a month behind! :)
Here are the pictures from the kids first day of school this year! Jessie started 8th grade (OMG!!), Andrew started 2nd and Rylee started kindergarten! Their first month has gone very well. They are all doing exceptionally well, as usual! :)
Sorry some of these are sideways again!!

Another addition to the "Smith kids" dictionary...
"Electricilized"- means to be electrocuted.
Andrew: "If that bird touches the power lines, will it get "electricilized"?

Obsessed!
Devynn is officially obsessed with the show "Yo Gabba Gabba"! Want proof?...Just ask her what her name is. She will reply
"Naki Yo Gabba Gabba!"
(Naki is her way of pronouncing "Nakatani", which is one of her middle names.)
My Bubba! :)

Only one of my kids!!
So today while we were walking through Kohl's, Devynn says "People want to see my butt" and starts pulling her pants down!
Andrew thought it was the funniest thing ever and couldn't stop laughing.
Where did my kids come from?! :)

That's My Boy!
Yesterday, when we were stopped at a light, a car pulled up next to us. They had their music up pretty loud, and Andrew was apparently bothered by it.
"Their music is disturbing!" he said.
I think in his spare time he reads the dictionary because he comes up with some pretty big words sometimes! :)

Where does he come up with these?...
The other night, as we loaded some bags into the trunk of my car, Andrew found one of his sweatshirts. His response?
"Big time, baby!"

So glad doctor visits only come once a year now!!!...
Today I took Rylee and Devynn to the doctor for their physicals. I knew going in that it was going to be a rough time with Devynn since she doesn't like people in general. I had no idea just how bad it would end up being though! Her melt-down started when the nurse tried to take her temperature (and it's the new kind of thermometer that they just roll across her forehead!!) and continued while she tried to weigh her and get her height. So much fun!! (And I don't think the meaurements came out accurately because they said she is in the 75th percentile for height and 50th for weight!?! I'm not thinking so!! ) She finally calmed down once we were in the room, but it started again the instant she saw the Doctor walk in. I don't think he had ever seen a child throw such a fit just to have her ears looked at!! He even laughed about the thought of me having to take her to the dentist!
Once he was all done, Devynn once again calmed down, but I knew that it would be short lived because the nurse was coming back in to give both girls shots. I honestly don't think Devynn even felt her shot because she had already worked herself up so bad. The nurse said that the other nurse and doctor had warned her about Devynn. How embarrassing that I have "that kid" that they warn each other about! :/
On the bright side though, Rylee did fantastic! She passed her hearing and vision tests with flying colors. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and the 40th for height. She was very nervous about getting her shots (she had to get 4 for kindergarten!), especially after witnessing Devynn's screams. She was such a trooper though, and she didn't even flinch once!! No tears. No tensing up. Nothing. My brave little girl!! :)
And this afternoon we went to the elementary school and got Rylee officially registered for kindergarten. I'm so sad that she is getting so big. What am I going to do with my RyRy Belle in school everyday?! I can't believe she's starting school already!!!
